Kora continued being all up in her feelings, pin-balling between sadness, guilt, anger, numbness, despair, hopelessness, etc. Just like the blurb is void of content, so was the book. I mean, just look at the book description. It made the whole reading experience feel utterly pointless for me. There were no answers given, no explanations on anything, no further info provided or character development realized. My biggest issue with this book was the utter lack of plot progression. It picked up right where Thief had left off, with Kora trapped in a burning building, Apollo rushed into surgery after being shot and Jace's fate unknown. This book continued with the trend of the previous one of me being underwhelmed and disappointed. A stylized, flowery mask or an edgy, sinister rendition of a pantheon with a dark background and pretty font would have been so much more tasteful as far as I'm concerned. It's frankly kinda awful and looks so outdated. I don't like the cover chosen for this book in the slightest.
